MUN Conference

MUN Conference

MUN – Model United Nations is an academic activity that covers diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations & world issues. Here, teachers and students both actively participate in research work; students develop speaking, debating, and writing skills.

It is meant to engage students and allow them to develop deeper understanding of current world issues. Eighth graders of Aadya Academy participate in Model United Nations, which involves substantial researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities.

The students representing different committees showcase their intellect, oratory skills and expertise over the various global issues by grabbing awards in different categories.

While discussing and debating on topics like crypto currency sector in India, electoral reforms, cyber war, cybercrime, legalization of marijuana for medical purpose, leadership in public places, the students learnt the art of political analysis, problem solving, public speaking, international relations and diplomacy.

Benefits of MUN in Aadya Academy

  • Through MUN, students will gain a better understanding of the inner workings of the United Nations and build skills in diplomacy, compromise and decision making.
  • It gives students an opportunity to practice and improve upon their public speaking skills and confidence in general.
  • It teaches students important debating skills, which will benefit them in University and in their careers.
  • Being knowledgeable, confident and believable is half the battle. If students can gain the ability to change someone’s opinion, they then gain strength over their adversaries and will have a better chance at becoming strong leaders.
  • Students are expected to put in time and effort to prepare for these conferences by attending practice sessions as well as researching about their country’s stance in various committees.
  • To ensure that children fight against corruption and stand up for what they believe in.
